Vail Residence

This 1960s modern mountain home underwent a complete renovation and new addition over a three year period. Every inch of the structure was redesigned to become a minimal and tactile vacation residence emphasizing a close link to the surrounding natural landscape.  In close collaboration with the architect and interior design team, the lighting design developed as a seamless cohesive material to the architecture.  Custom cast glass luminaires, coves and architectural elements such as translucent closets and privacy doors allowed the concealment of luminaires in key areas, placing focus on luminosity and the phenomenal presence of light.
