Union Hill Residence

A couple in the Union Hill neighborhood desired new lighting to highlight their contemporary art and design collection.  Simple arrangements of discrete pinhole accent lights and gimbal ring wallwashers are used to provide focused accent lighting or broad surface wallwashing in select areas. These recessed architectural luminaires are juxtaposed by strategically placed decorative pendant fixtures that provide diffuse ambient illumination and link the new lighting design with the owner’s art and design interests. Compositional layouts were determined by geometric rhythm of luminaires and vertical illuminance patterns. Aesthetic interests partnered with practical realities of structural framing and electrical access.
